Yellow Diamonds, Lemon Drops And Canaries

For those unfamiliar with the terminology, diamonds which are yellow can be pale or fancy. This is determined by a certain scale of color intensity. A fancy yellow diamond for instance, can be a bright lemon, a rich canary yellow or a deep marmalade. These yellow gems look particularly striking with a platinum (or white gold) setting which seems to accentuate the yellow color very well. If you are looking for jewelry or just loose gems, yellow diamonds are a good investment financially. Fancy colors are rarely found in nature, but are more likely to be much paler colored and enhanced by an irradiation process. They are still very valuable, even if they have been artificially enhanced. Certain well known celebrities have been seen wearing bright yellow diamonds which tends to boost their popularity for a while and thus make them a little more expensive, but in general a good specimen will cost approximately the same as an equivalent class of white diamond.
