Surprised by the Amount of Cheap Toys and Unsafe Toys

When my husband and I went to interview day care centers for our daughter I was very surprised by the amount of cheap toys and unsafe toys that were in these day care centers. In one day care center I even pointed it out to be director that one of the ride on toys had been broken. And that there was a piece of sharp plastic that was very much noticeable on the handlebar. I made a comment to her that is one of the children grab that handlebar they were bound to cut themselves. All she did was not her head and say she would take care of that right away while she continued to give us the tour! Taking care of a dangerous tollway in a day care center requires immediate attention and our tour could’ve been put on hold for her to take care of that dangerous item!

I Bought Her an Outdoor Slide for the Back Yard That I Had Saved Up for

A birthday is a huge event, and deserves a party. So there is no way I was going to let my daughter have a fourth birthday just come and go with no party. Kids are so sensitive and she knew money was tight at home, but for this one day she was not going to know anything about things being tough. I bought her an outdoor slide for the back yard that I had saved up money to buy her. I knew if there was one thing she would love it was a slide.

She loved her party and having a bounce house set up for her and her friends was a lifesaver. She had a great time and after all it was her day so she should be the one I see smiling all the time. As a mother it makes me so very happy to see my child happy as well.

Cleaning Stuffed Animals the Right Way

Stuffed animals do become dirty as kids continue to play with them over time. However, cleaning them has to be done with great care to avoid damaging them or making them less attractive to the kids. Stuffed animals tags often recommend spot-cleaning them, but some can still be washed thoroughly as long as a safe method is used. Stuffed animals that include delicate plastic parts, sound boxes and similar accessories can only be spot-cleaned because washing machines can damage them. For the washable ones, inspection for ripped seams should be done to repair them.

The best way to clean stuffed animals is to zip or tie them inside a pillow case or anything similar. The pillow case is then placed inside a washing machine where some laundry detergent preferably a gentle one is added. Only one cycle of gentle washing with a setting for cold water is required, and then the stuffed animals are taken through one or two cycles in the dryer before returning them to kids for playing.
